Nobody stays a rep here.

Every manager we have started on a door. The route is posted and so are the numbers that move you.

  4. 04 Regional manager
01

Rep

Four days behind a vet before you knock alone. You get the territory, the pitch, the objection book and a manager who picks up.

02

Team lead

Take three to five guys out on your own streets. You start earning an override on their installs on top of your own deals.

03

Manager

Run a city. Hiring, training and the numbers for it. Your override now sits on every deal your office writes.

04

Regional manager

Several markets and the managers running them. This is the point where the money stops being a straight line.

Pay

The part every other recruiter skips.

You are a 1099 direct seller. Normal for this business. What is not normal is being handed the math and told to check it.

01

Paid a week after install

Install lands, seven days later you are paid. Not net thirty. Not when the backend clears. Not when somebody remembers.

02

Every account on the stub

Address, confirmation number, what it paid. If something came off it, the reason is sitting right next to it.

03

Chargebacks have a window

A deal only comes back if the install cancels inside 90 days. After that it is yours. The window is a number in your contract, not a mood.

04

We do not charge you to work

No equipment fee. No lead fee. No marketing deduction. Housing on a blitz is quoted in writing before you get on the road.

05

Overrides are paid on time too

Build a team and your override runs on the same clock as your personal deals. Nobody sits on your money while they float payroll.

06

You can leave with what you earned

Walk away and your closed installs still pay out through the window. We are not holding your last check to keep you here.

Commission is set per market and per carrier and is written into your agreement before you sign. What you make comes down to hours, close rate and market. Knox Doors does not guarantee income and results are different for every rep.

Questions

The stuff you were going to ask on the call.

Do I need sales experience?+

No. About half our guys had never sold anything. You get the pitch broken into two parts, an objection book for the twenty things people actually say at the door, and four days behind a vet before you go alone. What we cannot teach is knocking a full day and still being sharp on the fortieth no.

Employee or contractor?+

1099 independent contractor, classified as a direct seller under IRS section 3508. That is the standard for this industry. You handle your own taxes, so put money aside starting with your first check, and nothing is withheld for you.

Is there a non compete?+

No non compete. There is a twelve month non solicit and non interference: while you are here and for twelve months after, you do not pull Knox reps or Knox accounts to another company. Selling fiber somewhere else is your business. Break the non solicit and you forfeit unpaid commission, which is why you get the whole agreement to read before your last interview instead of on your first day.

When exactly do I get paid?+

On installs, not on sales. A signed order pays you nothing until the tech has been out and the service is live. Once it installs you are paid the following week. That is why we hand you the install list and not just a lead list.

What happens if a customer cancels?+

If the install cancels inside 90 days of going live the commission comes back off, and it shows on your stub with the account and the reason next to it. Past 90 days it is yours. A rep running clean sits under fifteen percent chargebacks, and if yours climbs past that your manager works the cause with you rather than just docking you.

Do I have to travel?+

Yes. This is a travel job. You go where the build is, you live in that market while we work it, and you come home between blitzes. Housing is arranged before you leave and the cost is in writing first. If you need to sleep in your own bed every night, this is not the job.

What does a day actually look like?+

Eight knocking hours Monday to Friday and six on Saturday. Team meeting late morning, in territory early afternoon, knocking until about 8pm because that is when people are home. The bar is twenty installs a week. It is a real job and the hours are the hours.

How fast can I start?+

Screening call inside 48 hours, then three interviews: qualification, the sit down with the market manager, and the close. Contract goes out for signature, that unlocks onboarding, and onboarding is gated, so you watch the training, pass the check and set your first week numbers before you get a territory. Most guys are on a door inside two weeks.

Apply

Tell us where you want to knock.

Two minutes. A manager from that city reads it and you hear back either way, including if it is a no.

By applying you agree we can contact you about this role by email, phone and SMS. Message rates may apply. We do not sell your details.
